Backpack Program

BackPack Program

REACH collaborates with the Great Plains Food Bank, North Country Food Bank, and Feeding America to provide children in Hawley, Ulen-Hitterdal School Districts, Glyndon-Felton Elementary School, and Norman County East Elementary School with food to take home and consume over the weekend each Friday during the school year.

Children receive nutritious, kid-friendly, and shelf stable items such as juice, cereal, soup, fruit, granola bars, and easy to prepare individual meals. It currently costs $5.00 to fill each backpack bag with these items, and monetary donations for the BackPack Program are greatly appreciated, as REACH can purchase food through the Great Plains Food Bank at a nominal cost.

For more information, or if your school would like to participate in the BackPack Program, please contact the REACH office at 218-483-3145.
