2015 Annual Report

Food Pantry: Serves hungry children, individuals and families who reside in rural Clay, Norman or west Becker counties.

  • 779 Food Baskets & 45,860 pounds of food distributed.
  • Spirit of Giving: 274 Thanksgiving & Christmas food baskets & gifts to 383 children were distributed.

BackPack Program: Children in need from Hawley, Ulen-Hitterdal, Glyndon-Felton Elementary & Norman County East Elementary receive food each weekend during the school year to ensure they have proper nutrition available to them when school provided meals are not available.

  • 2015 Summer BackPack Program: 51 children from Hawley & Ulen-Hitterdal enrolled.
  • 2015-2016 school year: 147 total children have received food this year.

Family Support Program: Families functioning under severe stress receive emotional support, referrals, assistance getting their basic necessities met, and education to become healthy families.

  • 127 vouchers for basic clothing & household necessities given for REACH Reusables.
  • The Salvation Army provides REACH with funds to distribute for utilities, rent, etc. for households in need in rural Clay; 49 households received financial assistance in 2015.
  • Volunteer Driving Program for Older Adults provides transportation to medical appointments in Fargo-Moorhead; 20 rides provided to 4 seniors.
  • 188 children received School Supplies and 103 received warm winter gear.

Counseling: REACH partners with the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center, Summit Guidance Center, and Valley Christian Counseling to provide mental health services in Hawley. Over 435 counseling hours provided in 2015.

Dress for Success Red River Valley: 181 women received professional clothing, over 220 women received employment support from boutiques in Hawley & Fargo.

Volunteer Program: Volunteers provided over 5,700 hours of service.
